PUBLIC OPINION ON SENTENCING AND CORRECTIONS

A 2012 public opinion study on Sentencing and Corrections Policies in America shows:

1.      American voters believe too many people are in prison and the nation spends too much on imprisonment.

2.      Voters overwhelmingly support a variety of policy changes that shift non-violent offenders from prison to more effective, less expensive alternatives.

3.      Support for sentencing and corrections reforms (including reduced prison terms) is strong across political parties, regions, age, gender, and racial/ethnic groups.

  1. Hi, Linda,
I want to read and review your book some time this summer. This prison ministry is on my heart but I don't have a personal calling, myself. I admire those who do, like you, and thank God for you. I will never forget the woman who was executed in Texas who was a Christian in early 2000's. How I prayed for and was so horrified. I know women in prison need our prayers. Following you, and I'll be back! Hugs, Deb

    1. Thank you, Deb. I look forward to your review. Not everyone feels called to go into the prisons or jails, but your prayers are so needed. Whenever I asked the women what people could do for them, the first thing on their list was "pray for us." That is one of the best gifts you can give.
      Linda
